The easiest way to pass the Means Test and qualify to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy is to earn less than the median income for a similarly sized Oklahoma household.
Those median income figures are set to be updated in the very near future and should be posted to the U.S. Trustee Program website by October 9, 2009. The figures were last updated March 15, 2009. Once available, I will provide the new figures here on the Oklahoma Bankruptcy Lawyer Blog.
The Department of Justice will apply these new figures to bankruptcy cases filed on or after November 1, 2009.
