Broken Arrow’s Old Time Pottery Store Is Going Out-Of-Business

by Dan Nunley

Old Time PotteryOld Time Pottery, a Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based home decor chain that filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August, 2009, has announced plans to close 8 of its 37 stores, including locations in Tennessee, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio and Oklahoma.

The lone Oklahoma store is located in Broken Arrow’s Town Shopping Center at 3601 S. Elm St., next to a Reasor’s grocery store.

Melissa Jaffin, a spokeswoman for Hudson Capital Partners LLC, which specializes in retail liquidations said that the store will close once all merchandise has been liquidated which she believes will take about 8 weeks. The liquidation sale began yesterday.

Jaffin said she could not specify the number of employees at the Broken Arrow store but the store at one time planned to employ about 100 people.

The Broken Arrow store opened in October 2006, occupying a 95,000-square foot former Kmart location. Kmart left the site when it sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2002.

I have always enjoyed shopping at the Old Time Pottery. It has so many diffrent items and they are nice and are reasonably priced.I sure hate to see them go.There isnt another store like in in the Tulsa-Broken Arrow . I could always go there to get great gifts -things for my new home and the most beautiful flower. Sure SORRY THEY ARE LEAVING. .

I work at Old Time Pottery and it breaks my heart that we are closing. I have grown so close to these people and I love shopping there. My home SCREAMS Old Time Pottery haha! I am sad for January to come, but I would like to thank all of our customers for making this a pleasant experience for us…and thank you for all your kind words!

When I drove up to my Old Time Pottery store located in Duluth, GA, I literally shed a tear. I so love this store. This is the only store I shop for the most beautiful silk flowers, rugs, and everything else needed for my home. My entire home is filled with these beautiful items. I’m so sad to see them go. Take care and God Bless.
