How long must I live in Oklahoma before I can file bankruptcy there?

by Dan Nunley

Calendar PagesGenerally if you have lived in Oklahoma for the past 91 days, you may file bankruptcy here.

The general rule is that an individual can file bankruptcy in the state where he has lived the majority of the last 180 days.

So if you have lived in 2 states during the last 6 months, you would file in the state where you have lived 91 or more days out of the past 180 days.

Likewise, if you have lived in 3 states during the past 6 months, you would file in the state where you had lived 61 or more days out of the past 180 days.

And so on.
